Interesting names and none of which I can remember hearing of before!I`m from England and over hear the oldest celebrity I would say is probably Vera Lynn who is Number 48 on the list.It all depends on what you mean by celebrity. There are several people in Britain who are notable such as Clare Hollingworth (103) Douglas Slocombe (102)Jeremy Hutchinson (100) and Baroness Mary Wilson of Riveaulx (99) but none of these could be considered a "star" even though they will all get obituaries and credit when they go.

Looking through the imdb page, I think I watched her in 'mine' at the film house in Edinburgh @'85/6. Couldn't tell you a thing about it though, just remember Turkish, one word title, 'mine' rings a bell, and I was hammered. Life.

Actually, having had a quick look at her wiki, I think it was her husband I had heard of, due to his connection to the museum.

 

She's had an interesting life though, and may get English obit due to the 2005 book I'd never heard of.

Helmut Schmidt might actually be the oldest internationally prominent german, and the oldest one whose death would receive universal domestic coverage. Former president Walter Scheel is a couple of months behind. 96 years is not a very high age for this category, but I guess it's only fair after Luise Rainer died at 105. But there the paradox was that Luise Rainer might have been more famous abroad than in Germany, where she was mostly forgotten. I guess Rainer achieved the highest age of any Oscar winner, but I am not sure.

Not sure who the oldest noteworthy Manx person is, there isn't that great a choice. It's probably Randolph Quirk born 1920 though I don't think he's spent many of those 95 years on Mona's Isle.
