"...Crisis Group has been told by people close to the mediation that he is gravely ill; his conversations with President Museveni have revolved around his health, security and livelihood." Let's hope he's dead. Kony's right hand man, Okot Odhiambo, appears to have been killed during LRA infighting. Depsite being a nasty piece of work, I suppose Kony could only technically qualify for despotism if he was actually in power. He's probably fairly despotic within the LRA, though. On the face of it, this would seem to vindicate the makers of Kony 2012, unless it's purely coincidence that this unprecedented action - from an organisation not exactly noted for their efforts in searching for Kony over the last decade - happened just a few weeks after the video went viral. It's a shame that the man who made the film lost his mind, but it's hard not to see his suffering as a sacrifice for the greater good if his efforts ultimately mean that Kony dies sooner than he otherwise might have.
